THE MEANING BEHIND DERRICK’S STEAKHOUSE
Founded by Ross Derrick, Derrick’s Steakhouse is the realization of a lifelong dream — to bring a refined, classic steakhouse experience to the Okanagan. In June 2024, Derrick’s opened its doors in the beautifully restored 1914-era brick building at 1560 Water Street in downtown Kelowna, transforming the historic site into a modern yet timeless destination.
At its heart, Derrick’s Steakhouse is rooted in craftsmanship, integrity, and bold simplicity. We believe an incomparable steakhouse begins with uncompromising sourcing. We partner with trusted ranchers, select rare and aged beef, and treat each cut with the care it deserves. From the moment you cross the threshold, you enter a space where tradition and elegance meet, and where each detail — from lighting to linens is intentionally curated to elevate your experience.
WHAT TO EXPECT
At Derrick’s Steakhouse, you’ll discover a menu that honours the legacy of the classic steakhouse while embracing thoughtful innovation. Guests may begin with a table side Caesar salad, proceed to choose their cut from a presentation of raw steaks, and even enjoy dramatic finishings like Cherries Jubilee.
Steak offerings range from premium Alberta AAA cuts to A3 Wagyu sirloin, and a 36-ounce Bistecca porterhouse for sharing — all prepared over open flame, rested, carved and paired with elegant sauces (béarnaise, brandy peppercorn, salsa verde, demi-glace) and seasonal sides.
Beyond steaks, the menu extends to refined entrée options including seared scallops, sablefish and roasted chicken. Each dish is prepared to resonate with the season and showcase finesse. A robust wine list (local Okanagan and international) and a curated cocktail program support every course, while the interior featuring exposed brick walls, a mood-lit bar, rich wood, and ambient lighting — invites guests to linger.
